Work in progress

The PRF was not defeated simply by the courage and organisation of the workers, as many anarchists today claim. Fascism failed in Virassia because the existing ruling class did not require it to save Virassian capitalism from being overthrown by the revolutionary masses. Fascism needs to be given power by the existing ruling class, it typically cannot take it itself. It is a last resort of the ruling class when all other institutions of repression have failed in keeping the discontented masses from rising up. In fact, it fears fascism, and would rather keep it under its thumb. For Virassia in 1901, the failure of the anarchist movement's leadership and the noticeable remaining strength of the military was clearly enough to keep the capitalist's rule intact, and thus the ruling class had no need for the fascists to take power. As the civil war died and Schamilte secured his control over the state and country, he simply threw the fascists out along with all the other revolutionaries.

Perrie Josephson, "Understanding Fascism", 1924

The People's Revolutionary Front (Virassian language: Փըլկես Սթռօգելառիե Փոռնթ tr. Fālkes Strugelarie Fornt) is a coalition of right and far-right anti-monarchical, revolutionary and populist political parties operating throughout the Kingdom of Virassia, who effectively controlled the Virassian breakaway state of Nicimia during its brief existence.

History[edit | edit source]

Formation of the party[edit | edit source]

Present state[edit | edit source]

Ideology[edit | edit source]

The PRF is a thoroughly middle class-based party, with its politics reflective of the class positions of its membership base, being pro-capitalist, highly nationalistic, anti-monarchist and anti-Union, delivered with a highly ideological, moralist, elitist rhetoric. The party also takes a hardline stance on the denial of equal rights to non-Virassians, especially Vissers and other ethnic Ewigic peoples, and followers of Astralism, both of whom are seen as eternal enemies of the Virassian people and obstacles to the realisation of their greatest political, economic and cultural realisation.

The PRF's solutions to the lingering effects of the Great Crash appeat in some respects quite liberal, especially considering much of the modern liberal attitude towards Vissers and other racial and religious minorities within Virassia being being anywhere from "tolerating" to hostile. Amongst their most repeated solutions are:

  • Dismantling the state monopoly over agriculture by increasing agricultural collectivisation.
  • Rewarding hard work and implement a meritocracy.
  • Exploiting Virassia's oil, gas, and precious metal reserves.
  • Forming free trade agreements with Atraeth, Etruarand and Saeyri, removing what they call the "red tape blocking trade".
  • Revoking the immunity to criminal prosecution, arrest, and detention granted to members of the Virassian Royal Parliament.
  • Outlawing political party funding obtained from taxes, relying instead on donations.
  • Providing tax relief for investors, businessmen, and shipowners who employ only Virassian workers and move their wealth into national banks.
  • Solidifying Virassian state security and a more unified national identity by dismissing Astralist and Visser ministers of the state.
  • Implementing a minimum wage for all ethnic Virassian workers.
  • Implementing mandatory employment for Vissers with no pay grades exceeding the minimum wage.
  • Deporting all illegal immigrants who have entered Virassia.
  • Subsidising those in maternity, and offering tax breaks to young parents and those bearing large families.
