Helos Piktari (Etruarac: Χελος Πυκταρυ; born 19th March 1874) was an Etruarac Politician who served as Leader of the Etruarac Federal Party (FED) and President of the Etruarac Republic from 1900 to 1906, and is recognised as the youngest serving president in Etruarand’s history, being elected at the age of 26. During his term as president, Piktari towed the party line, advocating federalism and state capitalism, coming to power through his protectionist policies and liberal rhetoric - typical FED tactics - that earned him a secure working class vote. In 1901, with the global outbreak of the World War, Piktari championed the Etruarac war propaganda idealising the nation as a liberatory force of democracy across the western world, despite the nation joining the war with a clear imperialist intent that would only reveal itself after the war.
Aprincipled reformist at heart, Piktari would not quit politics after being ousted from his position of party leader in 1906 and the post-WWII discrediting of the Etruarac Federal Party. With the outbreak of the Second World War in 1933, Piktari defected to the surging Etruarac Labour Party, where he would advocate a reformed anti-war, centre-left political position until his retirement in 1943, forming part of a nucleus of centre-left labour politicians that would eventually found the New Labour faction in 1977.
