The Kingdom of Saeyri (Seonmi: ㄔㄜㄛㄌㄇㄚㄋㄓㄩㄠㄙㄑ tr. Seonymanzhiufauw, pronounced [seɔ.nʲ.maŋ.ʈ͡ʂʰiɯ.ɸaɯʍ]) was the rump state that persisted after the collapse of the Seonmi Empire in 1607.

First Atraelish Invasion[edit | edit source]

Concessions to colonial influences[edit | edit source]

With the Ruuvataan provinces under occupation from Atraeth, Kumtsuo Xian renounced his claims to the lands. Seeking to neuter Saeyri further, Atraelish diplomats petitioned for the restoration of the Kingdom of Kuosomy, with a threat of direct invasion should the Kumtsuo Government refuse.

Truce of Kaitan[edit | edit source]

The Truce of Kaitan saw the Kutsumo Government relinquish its holdings of Northern Kajisa, Gejarmai and Kuosomai to the Atraelish province of Ruuvattu. This move angered the ancient Deizaim family that had served as the hereditary governors of the Kajisa province for close on six centuries. A refusal to accept the terms of the Truce of Kaitan saw General Deizaim Shai-La take the loyal men under his command and occupy his ancestral holdings. Following this act of defiance, Atraelish diplomats delivered an ultimatum to the then ruling monarch, Kutsumo Fan to strip Deizaim Shai-La of rank and put him on trial for treason or face a military response from Atraeth. Historians dispute the events that followed, with many attributing Kumtsuo Fan's acceptance of the conditions as a sign that he was a weak leader who bowed to foreign pressure, actively labeling historic allies as traitors and going so far as to stripping the Deizaim family of their previous honours. Others have pointed to recent evidence that indicates Kumtsuo Fan arranged to meet with Deizaim Shai-La in the Kuosomai mountains to discuss the future of the general and his family. It has been speculated that the public stripping of rank was part of a theater of appeasement designed to maintain influence in the northern provinces unofficially while appearing to bow to Atraelish demands. The manner in which future members of the Deizaim family would willingly swear loyalty to the same dynasty that cast them out has lent extra credence to the theory that the two families were in fact playing a long game. Indeed, in the aftermath of General Shai-La's execution for treason, his son maintained the occupation of his ancestral lands and holed up in the Kuosomai mountains, resisting Atraelish attempts to remove them for decades.
