Ruuvattu (Ruuva: Ruufattu Ræpublicen) is a landlocked country in northwestern Cymlun that has been a historical theatre of war between the nations of Atraeth and Saeyri.
History[edit | edit source]
Ruuvattu was formed with the marriage of King Philip Kitatto of the Kingdom of Ruuv and Queen regnant Katerin Eiperillinen of the Kingdom of Aattu in 1104, thereby merging the families and realms of both crowns, with the Kitatto crowed as the Emperor of Ruuva. The Kingdom of Aattu remained as the lesser partner in the union until 1722, where rebellions in the Aattu region rose sharply and sparked similar rebellions across the empire, with ten if thousands of peasants of both Ruuvan and Aathan origins threatening the entire nation, pushed to breaking point after generations of despotic Imperial rule and abnormally high taxes. After years of poor success in quelling the rebellion, with many of his regiments having thinned out due to soldiers defecting, the Emperor at last resorted to renouncing his title of Emperor, assuming the title of co-Monarch, reforming the nation as the Ruuva-Athan Empire, ruling the Kingdom of Ruuv in equal union with the newly crowned King of Aattu.
