The Seony is a genus of biennial aquatic plants with showy black and white three-petalled flowers native to western Cymlun named after the Emperor Sonyr of the Seonmi Empire. The flower is widely regarded as an ancient symbol of Seonmi national identity, with the nation of Saeyri itself having historically styled its name in honour of its people's national symbol, as well as the Emperor whose name it honours, with the nation bearing the various names in the Seonmi language of "Seonymanzhiufaing", "Seonymanzhiufauw", and "Seonymanottsaja" throughout history, which in Atraelish translate as Empire of the Seony, Kingdom of the Seony and State of the Seony respectively.
