The Ylow Yashurs, also known as the Yashur people, are an ethnic group native to the Isles of Ylow east of the continent of Cymlun. People of Yashur descent are typically characterised by their copper brown skin and black, curly hair, and are known to bear prominently defined noses, foreheads and cheekbones.
Origin[edit | edit source]
Around 3000 BCE, the Ylow Yashurs grew to become an advanced naval civilisation with the acquisition of domesticated water buffalo and maize from trade networks with Wu and other eastern Cymluni city states. Due to a rising population and extreme competition between the princes of Ylow to inherit land, the Yashur people gradually colonised the eastern coasts of Cylmun. Around 1300 BCE, the ruling House of Zhotl had unified the Ylow kingdoms, and enacted a campaign of conquest across southern Cymlun for several centuries, forming the first Empire of Yashurhiel as the Zhotl Dynasty.
