The World War was an unprecedented world-spanning war that was for its time regarded as the largest and bloodiest war in known history, characterised by the conflict between many of the nations within the Atraelish and Etruarac spheres of influence across the breadth of the globe.

The conflict marks the end of Arc IV (~1905 C.E.).

Prelude[edit | edit source]

Alliance Structures[edit | edit source]

*Key players are in bold

Map of Spheres of Influence with Atraeth in red and Etruarand in blue

Atraelish Sphere of Influence[edit | edit source]

Atraeth - Opposed to Etruarac Colonialism and concerned with expanding its influence.

  • Amulna - In an alliance with Atraeth in opposition to Etruarac Expansionism. Suspected to be providing military aid to the Quenlyga Republic against Sine Weythern.
  • Flaigasil - Atraeth served as a key signatory in the Flaigasil Declaration of Independence in 1772 and has maintained strong ties with the nation since the late 1700s
    • Nguntu - In a defensive-pact with Flaigasil following the Reunification of Saeyri and the perceived threat posed by the rejuvenated Seonmi State
  • Quenylga - It is an open secret that Atraeth is providing both financial and military assistance to Quenlyga against their key competitors in Urcinne, Sine Weythern.
  • Nicimia - It is well known and publicised that the Nicimian Revolution would not have been possible without Atraelish backing.
  • Omlyiuds - Following a military pact drawn up between Tenma Omakhin and Charles Giffard in 1895, Atraeth has been supplying modern weapons and military training in a bid to destabilise the neighbouring Yieshyiuds and leave them ripe for Atraelish colonization.
  • Tzolkun - Financially backed by Atraeth and arguably propped up by the Atraelish Government, Tzolkun is essentially a puppet state in all but name.
  • Makrisa - Financially backed by Atraeth as an opponent to Etruarac Colonial influence
  • Pegard - Essentially an Atraelish puppet state and historic buffer state against the Seonmi Empire.
  • Estoil - Financially and militarily supported by Atraeth.
  • Ruuvattu - Historic province of the Seonmi Empire, liberated by Atraeth in the 17th Century.
  • Kannas - A former Virassian Colony, liberated by Atraeth in the mid-19th Century.
  • Welbenth - Atraelish Coastal nation and trading partner, heavily influenced by Atraelish foreign policy
  • Jovara - A puppet state in all but name, Jovara only exists as a concession from the Atrae-Cesmelan war.
  • Rashyahiel - Officially recognised by the Atraelish Empire and many of the states within its sphere of influence, not recognized as an independent state by Etruarand.

Etruarac Sphere of Influence[edit | edit source]

Etruarand - Opposed to Atraelish Imperialism

  • Saeyri - Primary trade partner of Etruarand and member of the Kaitan Entente.
    • Variyako - Member of the Kaitan Entente
      • Zeleovki - Vassal State of Variyako
      • Umlokovy - Vassal State of Variyako
      • Odokcraca - An opposition state to Variyako that is surreptitiously being backed, along with the LVP, by Juotsou Hou-gemgun's Republican Government.
    • Xhequa - Member of the Kaitan Entente
      • Ditira - Vassal State of Xhequa
    • Kuosomy - Officially a protectorate of the Seonmi State, although forbidden from reunification with Saeyri by decree of Atraeth under the Treaty of Kiros in 1815.
    • Aggurat - The historic homelands of the Anyuka Dynasty, Aggurat is in a formal alliance with Saeyri.
  • Sine Weythern - In a formal alliance with Etruarand following the Omicra Agreement.
    • Oymlunei - In a formal alliance with Sine Weythern following the Sonne Accords
    • Umren - In a formal alliance with Sine Weythern following the Sonne Accords
      • Yieshyiuds - In a defensive pact with Umren in light of the threat posed by Omlyiud aggression
      • Poscia - In a defensive pact with Umren following the threat posed by Omlyiud aggression.
    • Aurygus - Financially and militarily supported by Sine Weythern
  • Yashurhiel - In a formal alliance with Etruarand following the decolonisation of Gashaorhiel.
    • Wanjmangura - Aborigine state created by Yashurhiel and self-administrated by Urcinne natives.
  • Virassia - Financially backed by Etruarand and a staunch opponent of Atraelish Imperialism. Despite historical disputes, the immediate threat of the Nicimian Revolt has thrown Virassia into an informal entente with their Etruarac neighbours.
  • Gashaorhiel - In a formal alliance with Etruarand following decolonisation by the republic.
  • Cesmela - In a formal alliance with Etruarand following the Atrae-Cesmelan War, with its friendly relations with Etrarand dating back to the Western Amleian Coalition of 1581.
  • Freasiea - A tiny nation under the protection of Etruarand, having been guaranteed independence from Virassia since 1754.
