Legendary Rulers[edit | edit source]

  • Gemgun the Father (c.4500 BCE)
  • Laisa the Mother (c.4500 BCE)

Xhatsuo Dynasty[edit | edit source]

Defined by scholars as representing the first conceptions of a Seonmi Empire, with archaeological digs turning up artifacts dated to the era and the ruins of ancient settlements uncovered in the Xhangsong Valley supporting these claims. However, much of the records of this dynasty are themselves from ancient writings from the 11th Century BCE (33rd Century YE) that many speculate were texts written by scholars of the era attempting to explain the ancient constructs they found in the valley, and as such the names may not be historically accurate.

  • Sonyr (c.4200 BCE) - The first Seonmi Emperor to be found described in formal inscriptions from the 11th Century BCE, with historical evidence found to support his existence, primarily the ancient palace he was reported to have built being found buried in the Xhangsong Valley by Seonmi archaeologists. Primitive inscriptions of a yet to be deciphered ancient Seonmi language have been found in this palace that may hold the key to unearthing more about the past of of the ancient empire.
  • Atai (c.3800 BCE) - The last Xhatsuo Emperor. According to Seonmi legends he died in a duel with his twin brother that resulted in the deaths of both. Historical accords dispute this claim, as no such fight has ever been found to be recorded and reason that it is far more likely that he was either assassinated or perished in battle. Archaeologists are yet to uncover concrete evidence to support evidence of his existence but his appearance in the same inscriptions that Sonyr was first mentioned in, being noted as having the dynastic name Xhatsuo and the pervasiveness of the name "Atai" in stories passed down for generations has lead to a general consensus that his existence is at least plausible.

Seoni Dynasty[edit | edit source]

Taken from a list of Emperors dated to originate from the 11th Century BCE, the Seoni Dynasty is the first of the Trinity of Floral Empires. It is claimed that the dynasty lasted one thousand years. The historical texts claim that it is the dynasty from which the symbol of the nation originates from, flown by Seoni Xau as his battle standard.

  • Xau (c.3800 BCE - c.3750 BCE) - The First Seoni Emperor.

Kuosi Dynasty[edit | edit source]

Taken from a list of Emperors dated to originate from the 11th Century BCE, the Kuosi Dynasty is the second of the Trinity of Floral Empires. Traditionally, they are said to have reigned for one thousand years.

  • Oizane (c.2800 BCE - c.2750 BCE) - The First Kuosi Emperor.

Anyuk Dynasty[edit | edit source]

Compiled from both historical accounts from the era and a list of Emperors dated to originate from the 11th Century BCE that ends in 3162 YE, with the author projecting it to last another two centuries before the next dynasty is ushered in. The Anyuk Dynasty is the third of the Trinity of Floral Empires and is widely considered to be the beginning of recorded history within the Seonmi Empire by scholars, although recent findings of a primitive pre-Seonmi language in Xhangsong Valley ruins have served to challenge these ideas.

  • Bakofan (1800 BCE - 1774 BCE) - The First Anyuk Emperor.

Tainzaing Dynasty[edit | edit source]

At the height of their power the Tainzaing Dynasty ruled from the west coast to the east before the encroachment of foreign colonialism chipped away at their dominion.

  • Jaiban (1216 - 1256) - The first Tainzaing Emperor, remembered as Jaiban the Conquerer, Father of the Seonmi Empire.

Kutsumo Dynasty[edit | edit source]

Founding the legally recognized successor state of the Seonmi Empire, the Kutsumo Dynasty would see the rise of visionary leaders, puppet kings and usurpers alike in the span of their three hundred year reign.

  • Hou (1609 - 1613) - Founded the dynasty at the age of 57. The first ruler of the Kingdom of Sonyang, a state formed around the ancient capital city of the Xhatsuo Dynasty, Xhangsong. A Kuosomy Warlord who latterly served at Latsai's Court in the Imperial Capital of Kaitan, Kutsumo Hou was as much a military strategist as he was a political one. Maneuvering his way up to the top of the food chain in both circles, he commanded the loyalty of both statesmen and soldiers alike.
  • Luo (1613 - 1629) - Ascended the throne at the age of 41. Sought to reaffirm the Seonmi sphere of influence over lost territories and self-declared states by forcing tribute from their rulers. The Seonmi Army expanded significantly under his reign and tensions with neighboring states that had claimed former lands of the Seonmi Empire increased significantly, with a full scale war breaking out with Atraeth. Kutsumo Luo was a keen military strategist and had served in the Imperial Army before his father founded the Kingdom of Sonyang. This love of warfare would be the king's undoing as he would meet his end on the battlefield during the Atraeth Invasion of Sonyang.
  • Xian (1629 - 1687) - Ascended the throne at the age of 18. Fifth son of Kutsumo Luo. With his father, uncles and elder brothers slain during the conflict with Atraeth, Xian was the oldest living heir of Kutsumo Luo to survive the war. Born after his grandfather had founded the Kutsumo Dynasty, unlike his other brothers, Xian had never known anything other than a life of comfort and he had shied away from war from an early age. Forced to sign a one-sided peace with Atraeth that saw Sonyang renounce claim to their historical lands on the west coast, he was considered to be a weak ruler from the very beginning. His reign saw increased corruption, compliance with the demands of former powers and a forced reduction in the military capability of the Kingdom of Sonyang. Seperatist warlord cliques became a rampant problem under Kutsumo Xian rule as the military increasingly took matters into their own hands against the laws dictated by their nation, with many continuing to fight against foreign colonialist powers despite formal peace treaties being maintained with the Kingdom of Sonyang. Seonmi history does not paint Kutsumo Xian in a positive light.
  • Yain (1687 - 1701) - Ascended the throne age 55. Spent most of his reign attempting to salvage his nation from the damage done to it by his father's regime and outsider influence.
  • Lati (1701 - 1703) - Ascended the throne age 48. Officially stated to have died of a heart-attack at the age of 50. Grossly fat. Suspected to have been poisoned so that his more capable son could rule in his place.
  • Tai (1703 - 1723) - Ascended the throne age 27. Second son of Kutsumo Lati, older brother died of cholera aged 16. Surrounded by advisers for his twenty year reign, took ill with fever in his last year and died four days before his 47th birthday. Fathered five children, only two of which would live past infancy, the twins Daoi and Saoi by his first wife.
  • Daoi (1723 - 1732) - Ascended the throne age 29. Died without issue. Daoi the Unremarkable. A pliable puppet king who dutifully obeyed his colonial advisers.
  • Saoi (1732 - 1745) - Ascended the throne age 38. Twin sister of Kutsumo Daoi. Ruled fit to bear the name of the Kutsumo Dynasty by the auspicious circumstance of her birth. Mother to fifteen children, eight of which perished in infancy. Abdicated from the throne when she took ill in the winter of 1745. She would survive for another eleven years as a prominent figure in her son's court.
  • Lei (1745 - 1772) - Ascended the throne age 24. Eldest son of Queen Kutsumo Saoi. Assassinated at the age of 51 following his attempts at removing foreign influence in the affairs of his nation. Lead the nation during Virassian-Seonmi War. Historians speculate that Kutsumo Lei was radicalised by his mother to respond to foreign indiscretions with military force.
  • Itai (1772 - 1779) - Ascended the throne age 32. Against foreign restrictions, Itai was sent to Xhequa to train in military matters, reportedly converting to Igniscism during his service in the Kirosi Panthers. Returning to Sonyang only after learning of his father's death, he would spend seven years waging war against the suspected perpetrators of the Atraelish and their colonial interests. He died after falling from his horse aged 39.
  • Fan (1779 - 1812) - Ascended the throne age 21. With his father absent for most of his life, Kutsumo Fan was trained by advisers of his grandfather's court and trained in the art of political intrigue. He was taught of the Seonmi Warlords and the intricate ties they had between rival factions. For the duration of his reign, Kutsumo Fan would attempt to court the favour of the Warlord Chieftains. These attempts would not go unnoticed and he would be assassinated in the same manner as his grandfather for attempting to reunify his disparate nation.
  • Hem (1812 - 1845) - Ascended to the throne age 26. Ruler during the Atrae-Seonmi War. Reunified the warlord states under Sonyang. Brought an end to the Seonmi Stagnation. Built up foreign relations with other world powers opposed to Atraelish Imperialism. Heralded the dawn of a social and cultural revolution in Sonyang. Fondly remembered by the people. Began the slow reclamation of the lands that belonged to the former Seonmi Empire. Credited with substantially modernizing Sonyang.
  • Wei (1845 - 1866) - Ascended the throne age 37. Orchestrated the reclamation of the Yangon Lake from foreign occupiers in 1849. Proactively resisted foreign pressure and strengthened ties with nations of similar ideological interests.
  • Geim (1866 - 1891) - Ascended the throne age 40. Inspired by his father and his grandfather before him, Kutsumo Geim expanded the Kingdom of Sonyang to cover the entirety of the historical lands it covered at the fall of the Tainzaing Dynasty. Died of natural causes aged 65.
  • Kai (1891 - 1894) - Ascended the throne age 43. Last King of Sonyang.

Republican Era[edit | edit source]

  • Juotsou Hou-gemgun (1894 - Present) - Formerly known as Prince Teinwou of the Kutsumo Dynasty, fourth son of Kutsumo Geim, the King of Sonyang. Wed the sisters Juotsou Ya-hui and Juotsou Lu-sai following his victory at the Battle of Kuomosy. Hou-gemgun formally renounced his claim to the throne in 1890 after returning to the capital, taking the family name Juotsou from his wives. During the disastrous reign of his older brother Kutsumo Kai, he was encouraged by his supporters in the military to overthrow the incompetent king, which would lead to the Xhangsong Rebellion and abolition of the monarchy. Hou-gemgun currently rules as High Marshall of Sonyang. Nicknamed "Little Gemgun" by his supporters following the Xhangsong Rebellion. Frequently compared to Kutsumo Hou in terms of his political cunning and military ability. Chose to adopt the name "Hou-gemgun" upon refusing the Seonmi crown. Critics of his regime have attributed the name choice to his arrogance, considering it hubris for him to compare himself to legendary figures from Sonyang's past.
